Memorial Day Fun

We had a fantastic Memorial Day with our family! It rained all day, pretty hard, but that didn't stop us!

First, we went fishing at Dixon Reservoir at the base of Horsetooth Dam with Anthony and the Croslands. We biked, of course, and carried the poles in the paniers.

This is the "hill gathering" where people tried to find a dry place to sit and show off scars. Ethan was showing off his latest from the crash he had on Saturday.

Elayne's first fish EVER!! She was very excited.

Here it is closer up. I think Anthony said it is a sunfish.

Here is one of the THREE fish that Teresa caught.
Here it is closer - this one is a small mouth bass.

Ethan didn't catch one today. But he was such a good sport - he said he was glad that the girls did since they had never caught fish before.
Yep, that one earned him a "+"!!
Hard working fishermen.

After our fishing trip, we took over the Potts' house (with permission of course) and had a BBQ in the rain!! It was GREAT!

Here are Edward and Elayne waiting in the rain under the tent for the food.

Caleb did the cooking. Mike supervised, but I don't think he had to do much!!

Some of us were not as crazy about the rain and hid away inside until the food was ready. They are playing Desktop Tower Defense (whatever that is).

Food's up!!

THANK YOU Anthony and Suzanne for organizing this fun day and providing the meat for our cookout. We love you guys!

Smokin' in the rain. It's a lot like singing in the rain, but different.
Then we retreated into the heated garage for family games, entertainment, fellowship, and conversation. Thanks again Andrew for your loving hospitality!!

What a great day!
