October Blizzard

Our weather continues to baffle us here. I know that Colorado is VERY unpredictable, but this year has been particularly so. We had 11 hailstorms in June and July, copious amounts of rain all summer (if you can call it that. The temperature reached 90 degrees only 2 or 3 times all summer), and now this is our THIRD snow of the "winter" (technically it's barely fall!!).

Anyway, these pictures were taken around 1 p.m. today (10/28/2009), There are about 6 more inches now (at 9 p.m.) and it is supposed to get heavier starting at 11 p.m. So we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Just to give you an idea of the amount of snow, here are some pictures. Notice the leaves still on many of the trees! Fall was just getting started around here.

Here is the patio furniture on the porch. It gives you a sense of the depth of the snow.

Here is Edward's bike after his ride home from work! He still has his bootie shoe covers on!

These are the fallen limbs from our maple tree. They broke our neighbor's mailbox! I offered to buy them a new one, but they are so sweet they refused. Luckily our wonderful new neighbors on the other side (The Bandimere's) have a wood chipper, so when the limbs dry out, we can chop them up. Thank you Uncle David!

Edward cleaning off Jeanne's car (not that she will be going anywhere anytime soon - not to mention, you can't even tell now that it was done!!). Isn't it just spectacularly gorgeous though?! God is so good to bless us with such beauty and peace as fresh fallen snow. I adore it.

Of course, no heavy snowfall would be complete without playing in it! Here are Ethan and Tatianna.

This is Teresa taking a "snow shower" - she is so CUTE!
